The members of the club are from all walks of life, young and old, fit and not so fit, covering all abilities. We have one thing in common – we enjoy archery. Some members are keen to progress and shoot in competitions while others prefer a more relaxed approach and enjoy the shooting and the company of friends.
The club is based at Baldersby Park just outside Thirsk. The club has a number of archers with disabilities and the club house is wheelchair friendly. The present club was started in May 1994 with just four members and there are now over fifty including a junior section.
The club has links to the past and the title Thirsk Bowmen dates back to the 19th Century.
