Events for 2007

Dates of Winter Shooting Indoors
Winter shooting takes place most Friday nights at East Thirsk Community Hall from 6.00 to 10.00pm.  The winter season starts from the first Friday in October and runs until the last Friday in March.  There is restricted shooting during December.  We shoot over a distance of twenty yards and there is a competition running through the winter months.

Winter Shooting Outdoors
Every member is welcome to shoot during the winter as weather permits.  There is a Clout competition on the first Sunday of each month at 1pm.  A clout shoot is where a target is laid flat on the ground and the archer tries to hit this area, from anything up to 180yds away

Open Day
The next Open Day will take place on a Sunday in May 2008 at Baldersby Park, contact the secretary for details. Everyone will be welcome to come down and have a go at archery.  Coaching and all the equipment required will be provided by the club, free of change.  If you would like to learn more you will be able to sign up on the day for one of our beginners courses that take place in June and July.  The courses are run over three nights in a week and last for two hours on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30pm.  When you have completed the course you will be given a certificate that will enable you to take up the sport at this club or any other in the UK.
